Summer means outdoor meetings and bocce nights for the Sons and Daughters of Italy. Their first outdoor meeting included a cookout and a visit from the Rolling Cones ice cream truck. It was a beautiful night and a fun time for the members who are not just from Wakefield, but also from surrounding towns.

The community is invited to drop in to any or all of our bocce nights. Bocce will be outdoors at the Stoneham Senior Center 136 Elm St. Scheduled dates are June 21 and 28, July 19 and 26, weather permitting, beginning at 6:30 p.m. No experience is necessary and the bocce set is provided. Feel free to bring a friend.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday July 12th at Laurie’s 9:09 on New Salem St. beginning at 6:00 p.m. If you are curious about the Lodge, you can “try before you buy” and attend a meeting or activity. We welcome hearing from you; please contact President Paula Sasso for information at wakefieldosia@gmail.com. To see more photos and updates, check out the Lodge’s Facebook page.
