Tackle Hunger with Souper Bowl of Caring 2024

Why not harness the fun and food of the Super Bowl to benefit the Wakefield Food Pantry (WFP)?

It’s easy. If you are hosting a Super Bowl party or hanging out with a few friends or family and shopping for game day, please consider donating non-perishable food items and financial donations to the WFP.

What if every person watching the Big Game donated just $1 or 1 can of food to a local food charity? What a huge difference we could make to supporting our neighbors in need.

For over 30 years, the Souper Bowl of Caring movement has been inspiring people across the nation to tackle hunger in their local communities. In the last 3 years alone, the Souper Bowl of Caring has moved thousands of groups to collect over $25 million in dollars and food donations for hunger-relief charities, like our WFP, across the country.

For your Super Bowl game plan in 2024, please consider making a financial contribution or collecting food donations for the WFP. The drop off locations for food and other items are located at:

• Americal Civic Center (lower level)
• Beebe Library
• Shaw’s Supermarket
• St. Joseph Church (foyer)
• Wakefield Town Hall

And, don’t forget our Little Free Pantries (LFP) in these locations:

• Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 8 Grove Street, back parking lot
• The Wakefield Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon Street, left side
• The new building site of the First Baptist Church of Wakefield on Common Street.
• Wakefield Town Hall on Lafayette Street.

Wakefield residents are encouraged to help stock the LFPs with non-perishable food items such as pasta, cereal, soups, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, tuna, nuts and snacks. Please do not donate open, expired or perishable food. Give what you would want to receive.
