Temple Emmanuel Announces Special October Events
Congregation to celebrate Sukkot starting Sept. 30, with other events scheduled through the month.

The following is an announcement from Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield:
Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield has planned many special events during October. Temple Emmanuel is a welcoming community looking to make new friends. The Temple is a house of learning, house of prayer, and above all a house of gathering. Temple Emmanuel is located at 120 Chestnut Street, Wakefield.
For 8 days, beginning on September 30th at 7:30 pm, the congregation will celebrate the fall festival of SUKKOT During the week there will be morning services on Monday and Tuesday of that week beginning at 9:30 am. The holiday will conclude on Monday, October 8th with a family SIMCHAT TORAH service beginning at 7:00 pm.

On Friday, October 12th at 8:00 pm, there will be SHABBAT SHIRA, a totally inclusive, joyful, spiritual and song filled Shabbat in the round. It will include new text and songs along with contemporary translation, beautiful commentary and will be held on the second floor in Weitzmann Hall. A chairlift is available. Special Oneg to follow.
On Monday, October 15, the Sisterhood will have their Kick-off Dinner at 6:30 pm followed by a talk by Beebe Library’s award winning librarian, Leann Ellis. The Beebe Readers’ Advisory Library will speak about her time as a judge for the 2012 Adult Fiction award and speak about her eight months reading and critiquing an array of 2011 Adult Fiction Titles. Sisterhood members contribute $25 dues for the year. Guests may attend with a $10 donation. Please RSVP to 781-245-1886 or sh.berg@verizon.net
