Things to Know: 'Diary of Anne Frank,' EPC Seeks Volunteers
Friday, May 18, 2012: Catch "The Diary of Anne Frank" at the Quannapowitt Players tonight, volunteer with the Events Planning Committee, and more things worth knowing in Wakefield today.

Weather: Today will be sunny, with a high near 73, according to the National Weather Service.
Government: Town Meeting got through __ articles last night, but will still need to re-convene on Monday, May 21st for the remaining articles. The big news of the night last night was the passage of police educational incentives and a new fire truck for the Wakefield Fire Department. See the Town Meeting Day 2 Recap for full information.
Arts: is playing tonight at 8 p.m. at the (55 Hopkins St. in Reading). Tickets are $18 and will be sold at the door.
Business: It's not just for residents! Anyone who wants to receive emergency alerts through Wakefield's new emergecy notification system, including business owners who don't live in Wakefield, should visit the Wakefield Fire Department's website to add your phone number to the database. Multiple numbers can be added. .

Volunteers needed: The Event Planning Committee is looking for volunteers to join their team. The EPC is responsible for planning three events for the Town of Wakefield; the Shamrock Festival (March), Festival Italia (August) and the Holiday Stroll (December). The purpose of the EPC is to facilitate and/or sponsor events and activities which are of mutual interest to businesses, residents and visitors within the Town of Wakefield.
