Things to Know: Relay for Life, MS Walk Coming Up
A few news tidbits worth knowing today including: community, schools, and arts. There's something for everyone!

Here are a few things worth knowing today, Wednesday, June 13, 2012:
Weather: Today there's a 90 percent chance of rain with a high near 66 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Schools: This week is the last week of school for Wakefield Public Schools. Friday, June 15th is the last day of school.

Arts: Wakefield Repertory Youth Theatre will be holding auditons for its six-week summer program for students in grades 5-9, The Prince and the Pauper tonight from 4-7 p.m. at the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church (273 Vernon St.). The camp is designed to teach children about the joy of theater while putting together a spectacular musical theater production. Any student who auditions and wishes to participate in the production will be cast. The cost of the summer program is $775 per student, with a $20 discount for current WRT members. This fee includes tuition, annual WRT membership dues and a t-shirt. .
Community: Join the Wakefield Relay for Life at Wakefield High School on Saturday in a community effort to break a Guniess Book World Record! The theme of this year's Relay is "The Biggest Birthday Bash Ever," and at noon, students will be trying to break the record for the greatest number of people blowing out a candle simultaneously at a single venue. All members of the Wakefield community are encouraged to come to Beasley Track at the rear of the high school and participate in this event. Community: Also coming up this weekend is the First Annual Wakefield Lake Walk for Multiple Sclerosis. The goal of the three mile walk is to bring the community together to help fight MS. The walk will be held on June 17th from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. There will be refreshments, a raffle, and t-shirts for walkers. Come walk, donate, and support this cause and start your Father's Day off right.
