Wakefield Memorial High School is undertaking a Feasibility Study in partnership with the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) to determine whether a renovation, addition/renovation, or new school should be constructed. On August 2, the MSBA Designer Selection Panel (DSP), shortlisted three designers from a group of ten highly qualified design firms that submitted proposals.

At the August 17 DSP meeting, Arrowstreet in association with Moody Nolan, Dore & Whittier in association with Finegold Alexander, and SMMA were interviewed. The DSP voted SMMA as the top-ranked firm.  The School Building Committee will now enter into the fee negotiations and contract phase with SMMA.

In September 2021, a Community Forum will be scheduled to introduce SMMA to the residents of Wakefield, to discuss the Feasibility Study process, and to engage the community.  Visit https://wakefieldmhsproject.com for project updates and upcoming events.
