Town Of Wakefield Offers Upcoming Flu Clinics

Wakefield's Health and Human Services Department is offering several opportunities for the community to receive their flu shots.

Wakefield’s Health and Human Services Department is offering several opportunities for the community to receive their flu shots. Vaccinations are available to individuals aged five and over.

On September 21, members of the Health and Human Services team will be on site at both the Farmer’s Market and Town Day events. Appointments are available at the Farmer’s Market on North Ave. between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Later that day, a clinic will be set up on the Common during Town Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Register for the Farmer’s Market clinic. On October 7, flu shots will be available for community members ages 60 and over at the McCarthy Senior Center from 12 to 2 p.m. The Center is located at 30 Converse Street. Caregivers are also welcome to register for an appointment. Individuals who need registration assistance or transportation service should call the Senior Center staff at 781-245-3312. Register for the Senior Center clinic.

An additional flu clinic will be held on October 26 at the Americal Civic Center. The clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 467 Main Street. Register for the Civic Center clinic.

Pre-registration is highly recommended for our clinics, as priority will be given to those with an appointment. Sanofi Pasteur Fluzone vaccine will be available to those 5 years. and older. Fluzone high-dose will be available to individuals 65 years and older. Individuals under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please wear loosely fitted, vaccine-friendly clothing. If the weather is cold, consider wearing an easy-to-remove outer layer like a jacket.
