The Town of Wakefield is conducting water main upgrades at the intersection of Lowell Street and Wharton Park. The connection process will require a traffic detour and a temporary shutdown of water service at some residences on Thursday, June 13, 2024, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (estimated). Commuters should allow extra time to travel through the area.

Residences that will be impacted during the connection process have received a hand-delivered notice. Anyone with questions about this project can reach out to the Engineering Division of the Wakefield Department of Public Works at 781-246-6308.
If you live or work in the area and experience discolored water or fluctuating water pressure, running cold water from your faucets for a few minutes should eliminate the discolored water or trapped air in your plumbing.

All work is weather, equipment, and personnel permitting. In the case of inclement weather, the schedule will be moved back one day or until the weather clears.
