Wakefield Actress Cast In Boston Production

Nina Barresi, 17, to play "The Cat" in "Honk!" at Boston Center for the Arts.

Nina Barresi, 17, of Wakefield has been cast in an upcoming Boston musical, “Honk!” which runs February 9th to 24th at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Barresi plays “The Cat,” described in a recent media announcement as “the sly, cunning villain.”

Barresi has appeared in numerous productions at the Cambridge School of Weston including A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Tempest, Dido and Aeneas and Chess.  She was most recently seen in BCT’s production of Miss Saigon, and has appeared in A Chorus Line, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Annie and Side by Side by Sondheim at Long Lake Camp for the Arts.

Written by George Stiles and Anthony Drew, HONK! received the prestigious Olivier Award, Britain’s equivalent of the Tony Award.  Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling, this family musical tells the story of a young bird named ‘Ugly’ whose unusual and awkward appearance triggers prejudice and ridicule among his family and friends.
