Wakefield Armed Robbery Suspects Shot At Victim On Highway: PD

The victim told police he chased the suspects on I-93 South and was being shot at.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Police are searching for two suspects involved in an overnight armed robbery in a Wakefield parking lot.

Police Chief Rick Smith said a call came in around 3:30 a.m. from a man who had been robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of 105-109 Hopkins Street. The victim said he was following the suspects on I-93 South, and that the suspects were shooting at him.

State Police was called, but the victim said he lost sight of the vehicle before troopers arrived.

The suspects are described as 5 feet 8 inches. They were wearings masks and dress in all black. The vehicle, a blue Honda Odyssey, was was last seen in the Roosevelt Circle area of Medford.

Police said they believe the victim was targeted.
