Wakefield Dominates Wilmington After One Day Wait [VIDEO]

Rain delayed the Wakefield football team. Wilmington, however, couldn't stop them.
The Warriors were slated to kick off on the road Friday, starting the small school division portion of their Middlesex League schedule. But Mother Nature had other plans and the game was postponed until Saturday.
But there was no stopping Wakefield's potent offense, which put up 28 second half points en route to a 37-7 win that improved the locals to 5-1 on the year.

Dan Cardillo cracked the scoreboard for the only points of the first two frames when he ran two yards with 10:34 left in the first half. The touchdown was set up by a Wilmington interception.
Wakefield opening the third quarter with a dominant drive that lasted just five plays and ended with a Zach Bates short yardage score just over three minutes after the half.

Bates added another score late in the third, though the Wildcats struck back with 39 seconds left to play in the frame to make the score 21-7.
But Wilmington never had an answer for the Wakefield offense, which sealed the win with a pair of scores in the final 11 minutes of action.
