Wakefield DPW participated in “Fill A Public Works Truck"

The Wakefield Department of Public Works participated in the American Public Works Association (APWA) "Fill A Public Works Truck Food Drive"

The Wakefield Department of Public Works was among the hundreds of Public Works departments throughout New England that participated in the American Public Works Association (APWA) “Fill A Public Works Truck Food Drive” during National Public Works Week. May 21st through May 26th.

Throughout the week of May 21st through May 26th, local residents and businesses dropped off food at the DPW office in the Town Hall, and on Saturday, May 26th, DPW volunteers were at Shaw’s Supermarket to collect donations and to distribute information about the drive. All food collected during the local “Fill A Public Works Food Drive” supports the efforts of the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry.

“The Wakefield Public Works Department extends its thanks to the Wakefield Shaw’s Supermarket for its tremendous support of this event,” DPW Director Richard Stinson said. “Shaw’s has truly endorsed community support. Thank You!!”

The DPW also expressed thanks to the supporters of the “Fill A Public Works Truck” Food Drive, Joel Patterson of Shaw’s Supermarket and Maureen Miller of the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry for their support.

The DPW encourages all citizens to support the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry.

A Wakefield Department of Public Works pickup truck was parked at Shaw’s Supermarket on Saturday, May 26th as part of the DPW’s “Fill A Public Works Truck Food Drive” conducted during National Public Works Week.
