If you needed one more sign that summer's here, the Wakefield Farmer's Market opens the 2017 season Saturday beside Lake Quannapowitt. Running every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. the market will continue until mid-October. It features local farm fare, specialty foods, and artisan products. The market was conceived and created by the Wakefield Initiative, a group of residents committed to improving the quality of life in Wakefield. Vendors accept cash as well as all credit and debit cards.
