UPDATED: Wakefield High Students Return to Class After Bomb Threat

It was one of a number of bomb threats around the state today.

WAKEFIELD, MA - Wakefield Memorial High School received a bomb threat early Monday morning, according to Wakefield Superintendent Kim Smith.

On Monday Morning, the school received a robo-call style bomb threat that caused the school to be evacuated. Wakefield Police and Firefighters cleared the building and the students returned to classes.

"As inconvenient as this is, we take it very seriously," Smith told Patch."The goal is to get the kids back to learning, and we were able to accomplish that today."

It is not yet known whether the threat was pre-recorded or was automated in nature.
