Wakefield Loses Early Lead, Drops to 0-2 in Pool Play [VIDEO]
11- and 12-year-old all-stars off to rough start following latest setback against Wilmington.
Wakefield scored early, but Wilmington scored more often as the local nine dropped a second straight game in the 11- and 12-year-old all-star tournament on Tuesday.
Following a 3-0 top of the first inning, Wakefield seemed poised to back back from a 16-5 drubbing at the hands of North Reading in its opening game of the tournament.
But Wilmington bounced back with one run in the home half of the first, two tallies in the second and a trio of markers in the third inning to take the lead for good and earn a 6-3 win.

Max Marchino launched a three-run home run in the opening frame to give Wakefield the lead, but an Wilmington bounced back quickly to regain control of the contest.
"They played better than the first game," said head coach Dan Tartarini. "They know we can hit. Now we just have to put everything together."
