Among the updates National Grid notes this week:

  • Water Street: Crews will begin excavation and duct bank installation near the intersection of Water Street and Vernon Street.
    • Two-way traffic facilitated by a police detail.
  • Broadway: Contractors will be moving from the MBTA crossing toward Foundry Street.
    • Through-traffic will be restricted to residential, business-related, and emergency traffic.
    • Businesses within the closure area will remain open during construction.
  • Montrose Avenue: Duct-bank installation continues between Whittier Road and the driveway to National Grid’s Wakefield Junction Substation. An additional crew will be added to start excavation and duct bank installation between Whittier Road and Salem Street.
    • No through-traffic, emergency, and residential vehicles access only.
