Wakefield Police To Host 'Coffee With A Cop' Event
Residents are invited to enjoy free coffee and meet with local officers.
WAKEFIELD, MA — The Wakefield Police Department will hold a "Coffee With a Cop" event on Oct. 2, Chief Steven Skory announced. Residents are invited to enjoy free coffee while getting to know the local police officers.
The event will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Brothers Restaurant, 404 Main St. Members of the Wakefield Police Department will be on-hand to greet, share a cup of coffee and engage with residents, business owners and visitors. Officers are available for open general discussion with members of the public.
Coffee is provided free of charge, courtesy of Brothers, and community members are invited to get to know their police officers face-to-face.

The event is part of National Community Policing Week.
"The Wakefield Police Department is very dedicated to the concepts of community policing, building public trust, and police legitimacy and is proud to host events like this," the department said in a statement.
