Wakefield Rotary Club Acknowledged for Contributions to Global Charity
Each Rotarian donated to support global charitable efforts last year.
The Wakefield Rotary Club recently received two awards from Rotary International in recognition of club contributions to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). During Rotary year 2021-22, under Club President Bruce Donovan, the club had an average giving of $100 to the Rotary Foundation and all of the club members made a donation.
The Rotary Foundation helps advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty worldwide. Additionally, a portion of the Wakefield contributions return to our home area for local projects.
Past President Bruce Donovan said, “I’m very proud of how our club supports both the local and global communities. Yes, we contribute financially, but we’re proud to provide hands-on opportunities for service as well. I’d like to thank Club Treasurer Barbara Worley and Rotary Foundation Club Chair Wendy Maguire for their diligence in ensuring our club contributions are accounted for and recognized.”

The Rotary Foundation is ranked as a 4-star charity by CharityNavigator.com, which ranks charitable organizations based on their accountability, finance, culture, community, leadership and adaptability. TRF received a 100% score in 2021 (2022 scores are released in December) and has been a 4-star Charity for 17 years.
