Wakefield Rotary Club of Announces Installation of Leaders

Officers and Directors sworn in for the 2022-23 Rotary Year

The Wakefield Rotary Club recently installed its new officers and directors during a luncheon event earlier this week at Brightview. In accordance with its by-laws, the service club elects new leadership annually. Club President Gene Mullen was sworn in as President for the 2022-2023 Rotary Year and Glen Duffy was sworn in as Vice President/President-Elect. “I’m looking forward to leading our club into a new year of service as we approach our 100th year as a club,” Mullen said. The Wakefield Rotary Club will be celebrating its centennial in September of this year.

In addition, the club installed its incoming Board of Directors including Paul Adams, John Dale, Margie Daniels, Wendy Maguire, Jill McWilliam, Bruce Donovan and Amy Luckiewicz. Suzanne Bowering will serve as Club Secretary, Barbara Worley as Club Treasurer and Frank Fiorentino as Sergeant-at-Arms. The new leadership team took office on July 1, 2022 and serve until June 30, 2023.

The club also presented awards to Jill McWilliam and Daily Item reporter Gail Lowe for their support of the club. Rotarian Kathy Boyle was also presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship.

The Rotary International Theme for 2022-23 is Imagine Rotary. Rotary International also swore in its first female president recently, Jennifer Jones of Ontario, Canada. President Jones urged people to “dream big and harness their connections and the power of Rotary to turn those dreams into reality.”
