Wakefield Rotary Commits to Rotaplast Mission in Philippines
Club has supported cleft lip and palate surguries for 10 years

Wakefield Rotary is once again supporting the Rotaplast Mission to Cebu City, Philippines slated for March 8-23, 2025. This will be the 15th mission sponsored by the Rotary district and Wakefield Rotary is giving Wakefield area residents a chance to help with this international mission.
Rotaplast International, Inc. is committed to helping children and families worldwide by eliminating the burden of cleft lip and/or palate, burn scarring, and other deformities. Working with local professionals, Rotarians, and other organizations, Rotaplast sends multidisciplinary medical teams to provide free reconstructive surgery, ancillary treatment, and training for this comprehensive care of these children. The aim is to help local professionals build sustainable models for the care of these children, improving their lives and those of their families.
In 2025, the goal is to perform 150 surgical procedures, bringing total surgeries sponsored to over 1,400! All medical equipment and supplies are shipped with the team, and the $120,000 mission ($800 per surgery) is funded by private donations and the district’s Rotary Clubs. The greater Boston area is sending 8 non-medical volunteers.
