All proceeds will benefit the local and international humanitarian projects of the Wakefield Rotary Club, The Wakefield Food Pantry, and Wakefield Alliance Against Violence, all long-term beneficiaries of Rotary club projects.

Wakefield Club Secretary Suzanne Bowering explained, “You can literally pick anywhere in the world. Past winners have gone to Taiwan, Hawaii, Italy and Grand Cayman.” She added, “I’d pick Budapest if I won.” A quick survey of the Rotary club members at a recent meeting found that other “wishlist” destinations included the Maldives, Australia, Iceland, and Thailand. Bowering added, “The prize is amazing and we hope to raise a lot of money for our upcoming projects and charities.”
