Wakefield Scout Troop 701 Delivers Again

Healthy foods in the food drive included pasta, pasta sauce, breakfast foods, and much more.

A release from the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry:

Wakefield’s Boy Scout Troop #701 recently organized a food drive on behalf of Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry’s clients. Healthy foods in the food drive included pasta, pasta sauce, breakfast foods, and much more. The food drive took place at Shaw’s on 134 Water Street.

“It was our honor to help with this very worthwhile community project along with the scouts of Troop #701,” says Neil Williams, assistant scout master, Wakefield’s Boy Scouts Troop #701. Williams also thanked Dick Nerden, assistant scout master, for his assistance.

The food pantry is grateful to Wakefield’s Boy Scout Troop #701, troop leaders and family members, and shoppers at Shaw’s for their generosity. The food pantry also thanks Shaw’s for its ongoing partnership.

About the food pantry’s impact: In fiscal year 2018, which ended June 30, the food pantry served 570 families and distributed approximately 278,828 pounds of food to clients.
