Community Corner
Wakefield Sons & Daughters of Italy Summer Fun
There is a lot planned for the remainder of 2022.
It may seem like the Lodge gets together often and shares a meal. Well in July, they shook things up by sharing drinks and apps instead! Recently, members and soon-to-be new members gathered at Laurie’s 9:09 and enjoyed some fabulous appetizers, beverages, and updates. A few of the subcommittees reported on plans for upcoming social activities and work in the community. There is a lot planned for the remainder of 2022.
In June, two Lodge officers represented Wakefield at the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts’ Annual Meeting in Quincy. In August, a night at Richardson’s in Middleton is planned and both members and the community are invited. There is a golf driving range, batting cages, mini golf, and of course, ice cream. Please email Toni by August 21st if you will be attending at toni.alice@icloud.com.
Bocce nightshave been well attended by players of all abilities. As always, there are sure to be some close calls, but that’s why we bring a tape measure! The last scheduled date is July 26, weather permitting, beginning at 6:00 p.m. No experience is necessary and the bocce set is provided. Feel free to bring a friend to the Stoneham Senior Center at 136 Elm St.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday August 9th beginning at 6:00 p.m. If you are curious about the Lodge, you can do what several guests did this month and attend a meeting or bocce to check us out. We welcome hearing from you; please contact President Paula Sasso for information at wakefieldosia@gmail.com. To see more photos and updates, check out the Lodge’s Facebook page.
