Wakefield Special State Primary Election: What To Know
Voters in the 32nd Middlesex District, which includes three Wakefield precincts, will vote to fill the opening left by Paul Brodeur.
WAKEFIELD, MA — A Special State Primary Election will take place Tuesday, Feb. 4 to fill the vacancy for state representative in the 32nd Middlesex District. Former state representative Paul Brodeur resigned after he was elected mayor of Melrose.
Only registered voters in Precincts 4, 5 and 6 will be eligible to vote in the special primary. The other precincts are represented by Rep. Donald Wong. Not sure what precinct you’re in? Look it up here.
Former Melrose Human Rights Commissioner Mathew Helman, Melrose Councilor-at-Large Kate Lipper-Garabedian and Wakefield Town Councilor Ann McGonigle Santos are running for the seat.

Voting will take place at the Galvin Middle School from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Feb. 4. Early voting is not available.
