When Does School Start in Wakefield?

Although many schools in the region are moving toward earlier start dates for the school year, Wakefield will hold its first day of classes after Labor Day.

The first day of school for grades 1 through 12 is Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Kindergarten students get one extra day before beginning their new adventure with the first day of school for them on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Another important date to remember in September is Wednesday, Sept. 16 when there will be a half day for students and a professional development day for teachers.
