Whiz Kid: Amanda Lanzarone, Girl Scout Cookie Selling Superstar
Lanzarone sold 538 boxes of Girl Scout cookies in four months, more than anyone else in Wakefield. But even that's not enough for this 14-year-old Whiz Kid.

Selling someone a box of Girl Scout cookies isn’t a big deal. After all, nearly everyone loves Girl Scout Cookies. But what if it wasn’t a box? What if it was hundreds of boxes? Well, then you’d be talking about Amanda Lanzarone.
Lanzarone, a 14-year-old sales phenom from Wakefield’s Girl Scout Troop 77310, has sold 534 boxes of Girl Scout cookies since her troop began their yearly sales drive in December.
The mark was the most from any Girl Scout in Wakefield this year, shattering Lanzarone’s own personal record of more than 400 boxes sold last year and adding to her overall total of approximately 2,000 boxes sold during her eight years as a Girl Scout.

But she’s not done yet, as she hopes to sell over 600 boxes during next year’s drive and potentially pursue a career in sales as she gets older.
“All of this has taught me how to approach people, which is definitely a good thing,” said Lanzarone.

However, much of the credit also has to go Amanda’s mother Sheri, who served as the troop’s “Cookie Mom” and helped Amanda and the rest of her troop sell 125 boxes at a charity drive at that were then donated to the Wakefield Interafaith Food Pantry.
According to Sheri, the money raised from the sales will help the troop buy new equipment as well as help the girls go on trips during the summer.
