The WHS Boys Hockey Team asked shoppers at Shaw’s at 134 Water Street on Saturday, Feb. 2, for food donations for the food pantry’s clients. That was after educating shoppers about the issue of hunger in our community.

"We are so thrilled the WHS Boys Hockey Team’s food drive was a huge success!” says Christine Guarino, on behalf of WHS Boys Hockey Team. “The boys had a great time, and it was amazing to see such kindness and generosity in our community. It really does restore one’s faith that there’s so much good out there. It’s nice to be reminded of that kindness.”

The food pantry is also grateful to our Saturday volunteers, who organized and sorted these food donations — all while providing a welcoming and cheerful environment to the WHS Boy Hockey Team!

On behalf of our clients, board of directors, and our volunteers, we are so grateful!

In fiscal year 2018, which ended June 30, 2018, the food pantry served 570 families and distributed approximately 278,828 pounds of food to clients.
