One woman looking for a ride to Wakefield after her purse was stolen on Sunday afternoon in Salem was none too happy that the Salem Police Department wouldn’t give her a ride.
Shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, police went to Lafayette and Central Streets for a report of a lost or stolen purse.
There, police met a woman who said she was drinking at a restaurant with a friend from work.

However, the woman was very upset with the officer that he would not give her a ride back to Wakefield, according to the police report.
The officer offered to call the woman a taxi, but the woman responded, “How am I supposed to pay for it, I lost my purse.”
The officer then asked the woman if she wanted a ride back to the station to figure things out.
Apparently, that was also not a reasonable solution to the situation for the woman.
“Why the hell would I want to go there,” she yelled at the officer and then walked off saying she would find her way home, according to police.
