WALPOLE, MA — A three-story building, which hosts on East Street caught fire on Wednesday. The building is the home of local recording studio, Walpole Music.

The fire was within a few hundred yards of the new Walpole fire station. Just before noon, firefighters came to battle the flames. Fire Chief Timothy Bailey told the Walpole Times that although the department doesn't like to see fires, at least this one was close to the station and allowed for firefighters to extinguish flames within half an hour. No one was hurt, firefighters said. The only person in the building was able to escape.

The fire caused police to block most roads towards Walpole center, including Route 27 between Main Street and School Street.
