Walpole Police Welcome New Officer Jack Rouhana

WALPOLE, MA — The Walpole Police Department has added a hometown officer to its ranks.

Officer Jack Rouhana graduated on Wednesday from Fitchburg State University's 9th Recruit Officer Course and will begin orientation and field training with the department Thursday, Walpole police announced.

Rouhana was one of five recruits who completed 17 weeks of academy training after earning bachelor's degrees in criminal justice in May, according to Fitchburg State University. The state Municipal Police Training Committee authorizes the university's police academy.

Rouhana has lived in Walpole since he was five years old and played football at Walpole High School, according to his university profile. He has also coached youth flag football and mentored tackle football players in town.

His older brother, Justin Rouhana, joined the Walpole Police Department in 2019 and serves as a field training officer, defensive tactics instructor and firearms instructor, according to the university.

"It means a lot to me and it's a privilege" to serve Walpole, Rouhana told the university before graduation.

The Police Department encouraged residents to congratulate Rouhana and wave if they see him around town.
