Businessman Eyeing Run Against Elizabeth Warren Visits Walpole

John Kingston joined state senate candidate Jacob Ventura on the campaign trail over the weekend.

WALPOLE, MA – Republican businessman John Kingston joined state senate candidate Jacob Ventura in Walpole on Saturday as he eyes a 2018 run against Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Kingston helped knock on doors in support of Ventura's bid for the Norfolk-Bristol district.

"Jacob Ventura is a tremendous young leader who represents the future of our party," Kingston said in a statement. "Massachusetts voters want the lawmakers they send to Beacon Hill and to Washington to put results for hardworking taxpayers above their political gain."

Kingston was joined by several volunteers from his campaign staff, who helped support Ventura in the Oct. 19 special election to fill former Senator James Timilty's seat.

"It is critically important for our party to win this special election," Kingston added. "That's why I'm asking the other Republicans in the U.S. Senate contest to visit this district and show their support for Jacob Ventura."

Kingston himself is considering a run for U.S. Senate in 2018. According to the Boston Herald, the Winchester executive has contributed $3 million of his own money into his campaign, in addition to $256,000 from donors.
