Auditions for Hansel & Gretel!

Walpole Children's Theatre, Inc. announces auditions for Hansel and Gretel on Sunday, November 1, 2026

Walpole Children's Theatre, Inc. (WCT) is thrilled to announce auditions for our upcoming production of 'Hansel and Gretel' from the classic story by The Brothers Grimm, adapted by Vera Morris. The production will be directed by Nick Hayden. Performances will be held February 19-27, 2027 at the Walpole Footlighters Playhouse in East Walpole, MA

What: Auditions for Hansel and Gretel
When: Sunday, November 1, 2026
Time: 12:30-4pm
Where: Walpole VFW, 109 Robbins Rd. Walpole, MA 02081

Children ages 10-20 are welcome to audition. No experience is required and no fees to participate! WCT has been putting on high-quality shows since 1969. Theatre is a great way for kids to gain confidence and develop their public speaking skills!

When Hansel and Gretel are sent into the woods, they encounter some marvelous folk — an arrogant troll who fiercely guards his little wooden bridge, a talking owl, a forest sprite, and two hobgoblins in the service of the nasty (and hilarious) witch.  Tremble for Hansel as he’s locked in a cage and fed nothing but fudge and cake.  Cheer Gretel as she outwits the crone and sets free all the lost children who have been turned into cookies!  All the moments are here, from the night spent in the woods to the discovery of the candy-coated little cottage.

Auditions will be held in-person on Sunday November 1st at the VFW in Walpole. Walk-ins are welcome, but participants are encouraged to register beforehand. Please visit www.walpolechildrenstheatre.org for more information on how to register.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Walpole Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
