Norfolk County Register of Deeds William P. O’Donnell and his outreach team held office hours on April 30 at Walpole Town Hall.
The Registry is the principal office for real property records in Norfolk County cataloguing and housing over 5 million land documents dating back to 1793.
O’Donnell and his team met with members of the public and town officials answering questions on a variety of subjects including property deeds, mortgage discharges and the benefits of the Homestead Act. A Homestead provides limited protection against the forced sale of a property owner’s primary residence to satisfy unsecured debt up to $500,000.
