SHOULD YOU PAY FOR THE PROPOSED MASS. GAS PIPELINE VIA SURCHARGE?
DPU PUBLIC HEARINGS ARE A GOOD WAY TO SAY NO.
Two Department of Public Utility (DPU) public hearings coming up on May 3 and 23 will play a key role in determining whether to move forward with proposed contracts forcing electric ratepayers (every person who receives an electric bill in Massachusetts) to pay for pipeline construction that would allow Eversource, National Grid, and Spectra Energy to move fracked gas throughout New England and sell it to overseas markets.
If you don’t want to pay an estimated $8-9 Billion to construct dangerous new gas pipelines, now is your chance to speak up by attending one or both of the DPU hearings. he public is encouraged to submit written and/or oral comments.
It’s very easy, but contacting the DPU, whether in person or in writing, can be intimidating. No Sharon Gas Pipeline is offering trainings that teach you how and where to comment at these hearings or online. Join NSGP members for a workshop on Monday, 4/25 or Monday, 5/9 at 7:00 p.m. at Mass Audubon Moose Hill.
