In the years 2007-2009, Ed Poynter served in the British Army in both Afghanistan and Iraq. As a means of catharsis, he began writing poetry about his experiences in combat when he returned home. The result of this exercise is a collection of frank and eloquent verse depicting both the gruesome violence of war and the toll war takes on the lives of those who survive it. We are honored to be presenting our adaptation of Ed’s poetry with additional reflections from local veterans of the U.S. Military.
The program is free to the public. Donations will be accepted on behalf of The New England Center of Homeless Veterans.
“Remembrance Day” stars actors Ralph Stokes, David Reid, Ryan Bevard, and Cate Carson. Additional writing provided by Dennis Wood (USN- Ret) and Al Sozio (USMC -Ret). Staging by the ensemble, Beth Danesco and Erin Fusco.
Please join us and listen to the real stories of men and women who have sacrificed in the service of their fellow citizens, their country, and each other.
