WALPOLE, MA - Two Walpole Police officers were injured during a house fire on Norton Avenue in Walpole Sunday afternoon.
At about 1:15 p.m., Walpole Police and Fire responded to the blaze. While the fire hose was being rolled out from the hydrant, one end of the hose got hung up on the fire engine, creating tension. That caused the hose to pull tight and move, knocking two officers to the ground in the process, police said.
Both officers were taken to Bringham and Woman's Hospital in Boston. The extent of their injuries is unknown but the officers were conscious when they were transported.
As of 7 p.m., both officers are out of the hospital, police said.
