Walpole Basketball Star Shooting Hoops for Cancer Awareness

Soon to be Walpole senior Scott Arsenault will help raise money for cancer this weekend when he takes part in the Shot for Life Challenge.

On Saturday, August 3 at the University Sports Complex in Hanover, 10 other high school basketball players from the state will join Arsenault in shooting jump shots for two straight hours. The player with the best shooting percentage will be named the best shooter in Massachusetts.

A Shot For Life Foundation was founded in 2011 by Mike Slonina after he found out his mother had brain cancer.

The foundation's first event was that year when Slonina raised $30,000 by shooting jump shots for 24 hours.
