Walpole Man Charged With Crashing Into Police Cruiser While Drunk

WALPOLE, MA — A Walpole man faces charges after allegedly crashing into a police cruiser on Washington Street.

Kevin Richard was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to stop for the police and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to the Walpole Police Department.

At about 6:52 p.m. Thursday, Richard allegedly struck a cruiser performing a traffic stop. A chase ensued after the vehicle fled the scene but Walpole police were able to stop the vehicle.

A Walpole officer involved in the incident was treated for minor injuries.
