Walpole Natives Gunned Down By Roommate: Police

WALPOLE, MA — Two Walpole natives have died following a move to Tampa Palms, Florida, police said.

Investigators say Jeremy Hammelman, 22, and Andrew Onechuk, 18, were killed Friday by their roommate, 18-year-old Devon Arthurs.

Tampa police say Arthurs gunned downed the two in the apartment they shared. Arthurs allegedly told police that he told his roommates about his neo-Nazi beliefs and his conversion to Islam. Arthurs shot the two after disagreeing with what his roommates had to say about his faith, according to WFXT.

Arthurs then went to a nearby smoke shop and held the employees hostage, police said.

At the apartment, officers found a garage full of bomb materials which lead to charges against another roommate, 21-year-old Brandon Russell.
