Walpole Planning Board Candidate Accused Of Creating Anti-Muslim Facebook Post
The state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is calling on George L. Hodges to step out of Saturday's election.

WALPOLE, MA —With the Walpole Town Election hours away, an advocacy group is calling on a candidate for planning board to withdraw from the election.
The state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said late Thursday that they have uncovered a Facebook post from George L. Hodges that read “New rule of thumb. If there’s a rag on your head. You want Americans dead.”
"It's deeply hurtful and troubling when you have someone who is running for elected office would make such hateful comments towards women and Muslims," CAIR Executive Director John Robins said in a statement. "These are comments that are not befitting of anyone running for elected office and really drawn to question whether he would serve Muslim constituents."
