Police Say Wanted Man Held Woman Against Her Will in Foxborough; Victim Escaped Near Sharon-Walpole Line

Police say the suspect fled while in the area near the Econolodge near the Walpole-Sharon line on Route 1.

WALPOLE, MA — Residents were asked to stay inside as police searched for a suspect accused of taking a person against their will near the Sharon/Walpole line on Route 1.

Wednesday night, police received a report from a woman on Route 1 in Sharon who said she didn't feel safe in the car she was in and was being held hostage, according to Walpole Police Chief John Carmichael.

Sharon police say the incident started in Foxborough and continued in several area towns.

Police say the suspect, identified as Jesus Reyes, fled while near the Econolodge and went in the direction of Old Post Road. Reyes was tracked to East Walpole, but officers were unable to find him.

The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing and other agencies assisted in the search.

Police say Reyes has a long criminal record and is wanted on multiple warrants, according to reports.

The search was stopped a little past 11 p.m.

If you see Reyes, you are asked to not approach him and immediately call the Walpole Police Department.
