2 Dead in Early Morning House Fire

Police have confirmed that two died in a house fire in Waltham early Monday morning.

Two people died and one firefighter was injured in an early morning house fire in Waltham, said police.

On Monday, Feb. 16, around 2 a.m., Waltham’s police and fire departments and Cataldo EMS responded to a single family home at 67 Ash St.

When units arrived, they learned that two residents were still inside. Waltham firefighters found one victim, a 50-year-old man, who had perished. A 76-year-old female resident was located on the second floor and transported to a Boston area hospital, where she later died.

There was one reported injury to a Waltham Fire Fighter.

This Incident is under investigation by the Waltham Fire Department, The State Fire Marshal’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation Services assigned to the Fire Marshal’s Office, Massachusetts State Police CPAC Detective Unit from the Middlesex District Attorney’s and the Waltham Police Detective Unit.
