2 Identified Who Died in Early Morning Waltham Fire

The DA has announced the identities of the two adults who died in the Ash Street fire.

The names of the two victims who died in an early morning fire on Monday on Ash Street in Waltham have been named.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced that Eric Miller, 49, was found deceased at the scene and Elizabeth Miller, 75, was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

“This tragic loss of life remains under investigation,” said District Attorney Ryan in a press release. “While any number of issues could have led to this fire, incidents like this serve as a reminder to all of us to make sure smoke detectors are in working order and to do our part to shovel out fire hydrants to help First Responders get water on a scene as quickly as possible.”

State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan said, “Sadly, these are the 7th and 8th fire deaths of 2015. We urge people to use caution during this difficult weather.”

The fire broke out in this single family home at 67 Ash St. just after 3 a.m., and the cause is still under investigation.
