FBI Sex-Crime Sting Nets Arrest Of Waltham Man, Charged With Enticing Minor: Report

The 65-year-old man formerly worked as a teacher for the public school system in Newton.

WALTHAM, MA — The FBI has arrested a 65-year-old Waltham man, a former teacher, as part of an operation to stop pedophiles from harming children.

Mark Nacht faces a charge of attempted enticement of a minor, the Waltham Times reported Sunday. He is currently held by U.S. marshals and is scheduled to appear Tuesday for a detention hearing in Boston federal court.

The arrest follows a sting operation in which Nacht communicated with undercover FBI agents about a proposed sexual engagement with a 13-year-old girl. To meet the fictive teenager, he traveled on April 10 to Albany, New York, where investigators took him into custody.

Nacht worked for Newton Public Schools between 2017 and 2024 as assistant director of special education and as a substitute teacher, the Waltham Times reported.
