Bedford VA Summer of Service Seeks Volunteers
Open house on Aug. 25 will include an appearance by Bruins legend Bobby Orr and offer people ways to volunteer to serve our Veterans.

The Bedford VA will host a Summer of Service open house on Aug. 25 where members of the public can learn about ways they can volunteer their time to serve our Veterans.

The Summer of Service will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Bedford VA campus in the Oval and Bobby Orr will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to meet with Veterans and members of the general public.
Volunteers play an important role in helping the Bedford VA Medical Center fulfill its mission to provide strong quality care to our Veterans. More than 700 individuals volunteer at the medical facility each year and there are more than 75 volunteers on duty every day.

Volunteers are needed during the day, evenings and weekends for multiple things including support at the Veteran Information Desk, the Greenhouse, escorting Veterans to events and Chapel services, office administration and to serve as drivers. There are also a Adopt a Veteran program and opportunities to help Veterans enjoy recreational opportunities. Volunteers can also share coffee with our Veterans.
