Blizzard Of 2026 Continues To Make Its Impact Felt In Waltham
Like communities across eastern Massachusetts, the city was hit hard by last week's storm. Here's another example.
WALTHAM, MA — Besides downing trees, darkening homes and delaying travel, last week’s blizzard has created another disruption.
In Waltham, recent storms have prevented meter readers from reaching some homes to check on water usage, the city said in a notice Tuesday. That means your quarterly bill from the municipal Water and Sewer Division may be based on an estimate.
“If you see an 'E' next to the meter reading on your water and sewer bill, it indicates that your usage was estimated based on your prior consumption history,” the notice reads.

“Your next bill should reflect charges based on an actual meter reading, and any necessary adjustments will be made at that time.”
The storm of Feb. 23-24 dumped over 29 inches of snow in Waltham, forcing the city to temporarily ban on-street parking, shutter some offices and deploy masses of emergency personnel.
