Waltham Issues Update On Parking Ban, Other Blizzard Responses
The city, like many communities in eastern Massachusetts, is now working to recover from Monday's powerful storm.
WALTHAM, MA — The blizzard that tore through eastern Massachusetts on Monday is over, and communities including Waltham are shoveling out.
The city’s emergency parking ban ended Tuesday at 7 a.m. and all vehicles that had overnighted in school parking lots should be removed, a public notice said this morning.
However, drivers who parked during the ban in municipal lots can keep vehicles there until 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Waltham public schools were closed for a second day on Tuesday because of the storm. Officials also said city trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day throughout the week.
The winter storm began late Sunday and by Monday night had dumped 12 inches of snow in Waltham. Power lines fell in many parts of the state, and at one point nearly 300,000 Massachusetts homes and businesses were without electricity.
