BRAGB Continues "Business Toolbox Learning Series" With Presentation About Legal Strategies In Contracting
Third installment of educational series aimed at builders and remodelers
The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) recently continued its “Business Toolbox Learning Series” on May 18th at Embassy Suites in Waltham, MA. The event featured speaker, and BRAGB member, Andrea Goldman, a litigator, arbitrator, and mediator at Goldman Law Group. About 50 members and industry professionals were in attendance.
Goldman serves as a trusted advisor for construction companies and local businesses by lending her expertise to help in drafting contracts and planning. Having worked both sides of contractor and homeowner disputes, she has gained extensive experience and built a strong track record of ensuring project success.
The event kicked off with an hour of networking, followed by dinner with other BRAGB members and industry professionals before Goldman’s presentation began. Her topics ranged from contract specific issues, to fixed-price versus time and material, to the Home Improvement Contractor Arbitration Program, to insight of the courts. She also discussed the importance of proper contracts, mechanic’s liens, and her tips and best practices for running a successful business.

Goldman provided ample time for a Q&A session with the engaged crowd at the close of the presentation. She also offered a free two-hour consultation for new members who join BRAGB during the month of May. Her presentation will also be available as an online webinar on BRAGB’s website for contractors and business owners who were not in attendance for the event.

“As a BRAGB Executive Committee member, and practicing litigator, Andrea is in a unique position to share her experience and expertise with other members and industry professionals to ensure they are using the best practices with their business,” said Lorraine DeVaux, Chief Executive Officer of BRAGB. “Our Toolbox Learning Series provides the opportunity for members to themselves not only on the legal aspect of doing business but all parts of the industry.”
The BRAGB Remodelers Council, which organized the series, promotes the benefits of remodeling homes through consumer tools and newsletters, educates members through events, and utilizes additional resources of BRAGB’s affiliate at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). As the leading trade association for building and remodeling in Massachusetts, BRAGB will continue to offer classes in the Business Toolbox Learning Series throughout the year. Future subjects will include financing, staffing, contracts, insurance, permitting, and more.
