Brandeis Professor at the Center of New HBO Movie
In "Confirmation," Kerry Washington portrays Anita Hill - now a professor at the university - during the 1991 Clarence Thomas hearings.

WALTHAM, MA - Twenty-five years ago Anita Hill found herself testifying in front of the Senate about alleged sexual harassment by her former boss, Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas.
Though Thomas was ultimately confirmed, the hearings were viewed by tens of millions at the dawn of the 24-hour news cycle and sparked a national conversation on the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace.
Now a professor at Brandeis University, Hill will relive those hearings on the small screen this weekend.
"Confirmation," an HBO movie starring Kerry Washington as Hill and Wendell Pierce as Thomas, airs this Saturday and recalls the case that divided the country over the issues of race, gender and acceptable workplace behavior.
Last month Washington stopped by the university, where she and Hill held a panel on the making of the film and Hill's experience being thrust into the national spotlight.
In 1991 Hill was a law professor at the University of Oklahoma when she was subpoenaed to appear in front of the Senate and became a household name.
"Confirmation" airs this Saturday at 8 p.m. on HBO.
