WALTHAM, MA — The Brandeis University track and field and cross country programs will be under a new head coach for the first time in a decade.

Brandeis athletes garnered 14 All-America honors and three individual and relay national championships under the tutelage of Evans.
Emily Bryson, class of '19, claimed titles in the mile and 3000m indoors, the 1500m outdoors and as part of the winning distance medley relay team in 2019.
More recently, first-year TJ Carleo became Brandeis's first male athlete to compete in the NCAA Championships in the 800-meter run in more than a decade.
In all, seven athletes earned Brandeis's Male or Female Athlete of the Year awards during Evans' tenure.
"I am really grateful for the opportunity and privilege to have worked with and coached so many wonderful student-athletes, and to be a part of their college journey," Evans said.
"I want to thank Lauren, Lynne, and the Brandeis administrative staff for all of their incredible support during my time here. I wish everyone in the Brandeis family all the best going forward. I will continue to watch and cheer for the Judges."
Evans will leave Brandeis officially on June 30 "to pursue other opportunities," athletics officials said. A national search for a new coach will follow.
